How it started…
J.H. Sanford started making and selling mattresses to people in and around his neighborhood of Rome in the early 1900’s. His son, Claude Sanford (Pictured here), a WWII Vet, learned from his father, and grew that business to surrounding counties. In 1972 Terry Spears, Claude’s son-in-law decided to go in business for himself, and began making mattresses. Terry grew that business to become one of the largest independent mattress manufacturing companies in the country. Today, Frankie Beck and Barry Simpson, Terry’s son-in-laws, manage Heritage Sleep Concepts. Terry’s grandson, Jordan Beck, is involved in the business, which prides itself on being in the mattress business for 5 generations.
